On the road to driving for real!
*Site news. A new photo added to Life*
I took two buses to get into the “Discovery City” of Dundee, this morning. I had my theory test to take & I managed to pass it first time! When I was sitting it, I was sure that I had mucked it up but when I left the room the receptionist guy congratulated me. I shouted out – “I passed?!” & I had. Yey.

Birthday stroll.
My friend Lindsay had her last teen birthday this week so I went to her house, in St Monance, for a wee party with our other friend, Sarah. I introduced Lindsay to Tia Maria & we also had punch while Sarah drank her beer! We watched a couple of dvds – I made them watch an episode of the hilarious Family Guy.
We went for a walk later in the evening. Lindsay was wearing a dress & heels & I wasn’t exactly wearing walking shoes either. However, we climbed up on to the pier wall, (though I freaked out & made us come down!) clambered along the rocky beach & walked through mud & grass & past highland cows. We had a fun time though & promised to go for more walks. I’ll wear my old converses though!

Perfect living.
*site news. Five new connections made. They are all really worth checking out.*
I haven't been up to much since the last post. I just want to be back in Glasgow. I'll be sharing the new flat with Claire & Alex. The flat is situated perfectly, next to the underground, bus stop, the Uni is just a two minute walk & so are the shops & bars!

The story of the Sunday club.
My cousin, Katie stayed over last night. She came round at 4pm after letting me know at 3:20pm so i had to dash round tidying up and drying my hair.
It was great to have some company and to fuss over as i loneliness is starting to get at me. I am becoming more aware of creaks at night. So we had a few drinks and feasted all night whilst watching Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit! Oh riiiiight.
I was at the Sunday Club today. I don't believe i have told the The Sunday club story here. Well, it was founded nearly four years ago. Laura and Charlie Mckenna were moving home and they rounded up their daughters and other family and friends to help with the move. To show their gratitude, the Mckenna's invited the helpers around to their new home on a Sunday for a meal. Then it just took off from there.
I joined the fold about a year and a half ago. I had been spending quite a bit of time with the Mckenna's avoiding my tyrant of a step-father. I would stay with them when mom & her husband would go off on one of their frequent holidays. I went on holiday with the sunday club & my mom (who is not a "member") to Teneriefe. When i got back, I started frequenting the Sunday club. There are now 9-10 regulars ageing from 18-80!

Only in Glasgow.
*site news. Three new photos added to the life page & i have finally gotten round to adding my Girls Aloud recount to the Gigs page*
I Finally returned to my Glasgow yesterday, even though it was just a brief encounter.
It sure was not easy getting there! I woke up at 6am to shower & change several times before getting to the bus station for 8:30am. I didn't manage to get on a bus until an hour later becuase of a whole mix up.
When i finally got there, after over two hours on the bus, Su was waiting for me at the bus station. We went outside and sat on a bench. She started giving me presents that she had collected in America (see Pictures). A man approached us and leaned in so close to me to part in a little study that i couldn't really say no. I had to try out an info machine, whilst being filmed, and answer questions about it. For my effort, i was given a £10 high street voucher.
Afterwards, we took the underground train (yep, it is true and it has been operating for over a hundred years) into the West End. We ate Crepes in one of our fave cafes before climbing up all the stairs to Uni. I managed to sort out my resit enrollment.
We Went back into the center and spent hours in Borders. The place is amazing. They have magazines from around the world, books, music, dvds & a starbucks.
Before leaving the city, we bought some of Millie's Cookies. Yum yum. I then had 10 minutes to walk all the way up Buchanan street to catch the last bus. On the way up there were some black guys having a break-dancing dual in the street!

On the road to a licence.
*site news. Four new photos added to the life page including one of my ugly summer flat*
I booked my driving theory test last night. It is all set for August 9th so i will need to dust off my driving books. I had another lesson this morning at 9:30AM.
I am really excited for my trip to Glasgow tomorrow, though i could do without the 4 hour return bus trip.

Sing to me in French.
I went into Glenrothes today to get my hands on the album which holds the line that has been playing in my head, sans cesse (see last entry). The band are Maximo Park and i have been bigging them up to anyone who isn't occupied or making themselves look so.
At 6:30pm, Anni picked me up and we went along to some friends for a meal. After dinner, and finally agreeing to not get some desserts, we moved to the lounge. We just talked & watched tv.
I am finally set to be reunited with my Glasgow on Thursday. I am meeting my friend Su. I need to sort out some things at the Uni. Most importantly, i missed the deadline for enrolling for my French resit exams. Scheiße!

Mi casa es más bonita que su casa.
*Site news. Adore/abhor updated and Room 5 Pictures have been temporarily deleted as i had reached max space*
I finally got round to phoning BT and setting up a connection. A freekin' unsweet expensive one! So anyhoo, expect updates thoughout the site.
Since the last entry, I have been setting up my summer home. The decour leaves a lot to be desired - for example, some neuteral colours would be appreciated. Blue carpet, green paper on the lower walls, a wooden border and orange paper above. Yuk yuk. So anyway, i have been searching for a source of income to pay for the privillage of residing here, no luck so far.

the kingdom.
*Site news. Adore/abhor updated*
Well i am now back in the kingdom (of Fife). Sun, sea, utter boredom. I'm in a library at the moment using it as a patch - i miss the net! I might arrange a connection for the flat if i can work out how. There are so many things to do, living away from family. Filling out tax form, opening bank accounts, arranging rent payments, remembering to get electric cards. When you live at home you take for granted that there is always milk and bread in stock!
I haven't been up to too much, last night i was at a graduation party for a friend. I indulged in some pre-party drinking and was completely wasted by the time i got there! I was dancing about and talking utter drivel. Then at night, i was hallucinating again! Scary stuff.
Anyhoo, i am away to find something still and clear to drink.

Summer flat.
I've left Glasgow for the summer, sob sob. I'm about to leave my grandparents' home in England where i have been staying for the past couple of weeks. I'm moving into a flat in Fife until i return to the big G. Apparently, the flat only has a bed in it at the moment but i hope to add more things pretty damn soon! Oh and i will try to hook up to the internet so that i can sort out this god-forsaken site!
All the best for now!

Applied for a credit card but was declined as it's a real task to get hold of one when you are a student. I will just have to keep applying so that i can upgrade.
I took got copies of Alex and Claire's photos & the shop put them all on a disc for me too so i'll try add more to the site, though they may be a bit dated (christmas etc)

DJ Missninjafish.
*Site news. Three new connections & changed the background to Me*
Nico taught me how to use his dj software tonight. He arrived last Monday from France - taking over Pearce's vacated room. It was a shock when he first arrived as the top honchos had failed to inform us. I was sitting in the kitchen with Alex when he mousily shuffled into the room. He stood there for a while until i asked him who he was. Our new flatmate!
At first we didn't know what to say or do with him as his English seemed poor. Since Alex left though, he has blossomed more and doesn't rely on his dictionary anymore. I think this transformation was triggered by Claire who unwisely downed a bottle of wine and imitation Malibu - straight!
She started a water fight and later ended up in the shower, fully clothed, in a heap. She then went on to collapse in her wardrobe too!
Nico relaxed after all this.
Claire left the fold today so now i am the last remaining original flat D member. I am trying to keep the ethos alive until i leave on Saturday. I'm off two my grandparents place for a couple of weeks before moving to Fife for the summer.
Anyway, i got on really well with Nico tonight. We made a vegetarien meal with fresh food as he turned his nose up at the frozen food. Salad with peppers, cheese, cucumber, carrots & lettuce tossed in with olive, lemon, pepper, salty and vinegar. Oh and boiled potatoes and gherkins on the side too. Yummy.
I said i will make vegetable lasagne tomorrow. Home made - yeah!
After realising that i could not remember how to play any two player card games, we abandoned the Rummy game and he shoed me how to mix on my computer.

Hitch hiker's Guide.
*Site news. Oh yes. I have been able to restore most of the background images thanks to http://tech.freeservers.com/cgi/support//YaBB.pl. A kind person there finally told me how to stop the bg image repeating. For some reason, after the number of banner ads were increased, my code stopped working. I'm glad to have my site looking a little more like it used to. Next to go are those ads... *
Finally saw Hitch hiker’s Guide tonight. I'm currently reading the third instalment (Life, the Universe and Everything) so I felt it was safe to see the film. The film was pretty similar in plot, though the Trillian love interest story pissed me off and the scenes put in to rescue her from the Vogans were a bit unnecessary I thought. It was still funny, though I didn't laugh out loud as i had already been through them all with the books.
It's worth seeing but you should definitely pick up the book.

Hunting.
*Site news. 2 more pics in & the rest*
Ah, summer. I had my last exam on Friday then celebrated by getting drunk and heading off to my union for Cheesy Pop night.
I have a tough few weeks ahead though as i have to find a flat for next term and somewhere for the summer too. We have to up-foot and leave these digs by 15th of June.
I hate flat-hunting, or at least the prospect (haven't actually started viewing).
Ooooh, i booked an appointment with Ms. Bank for this Thursday so soon i will be closer to handling my first Visa card and buying up some web space. I have had an amazing idea for a new site. I will be upgrading this one too though, & keeping it as my personal site. Fingers crossed i have broadband in my summer squat.

Susan HAS tats.
I missed my chance to query Jackie Woodburne (Susan Smith from Neighbours) on her tattoos & lesbian escapades. However, i was on the Neighbours' BBC site and some rumours have been finally answered!
::Jackie:: "Yes I am covered from head to foot in tattoos, and also a serious amount of body piercing which I'm not going to go into at this point. Yep, you found me out. I am covered. I am art from head to foot!"
::Rachel:: "What's the most embarrassing thing you have had to do in Neighbours?"
::Jackie:: "I suppose reveal my tattoos from time to time... I'm not going to talk about the body piercing. I'm not going there!"
"It’s great; it's terrific for an actor to be in work for so long, especially as a woman. Not a lot of jobs for women. Not a lot of jobs for women over forty with tattoos and body piercings that need to be covered up constantly...!"
AND on her relationship with Lyn in neighbours (I have heard rumours, mostly from my flatmate Dave, that the two are...lovers! Though he does tease me all the time about the show so I don't know.)
::Willow:: "You've worked with Janet Andrewartha for quite a while now, both on Prisoner and Neighbours. Do you socialise off set together and if so do you get recognised much?"
::Jackie:: "I can't stand Janet. I've never liked her. No, I've worked with Janet for a very long time and I've been friends with her for even longer. We go back beyond that, we were at the same drama school together. She was one or two years ahead of me at drama school here in Melbourne. I finished in 1980, so she would have finished in 78 or 79. So we've been friends for... however many years that is! About 27 or 28 years. She's a very very close friend. I love her, she's great and she's too good an actor!"
I had another exam today. I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that i am probably going to have to resit. But hey ho.
Another exam on Friday and tomorrow i have to be at the library before 10am. Oh yes. I have a book due. Och. I should stay all day & REVISE. We'll see though.
My little sister sent me a coolio chewing gum dispenser - a Spongebob one! There were little funny stickers in too. I can't really put up new photos though until i upgrade as i am nearing my max. Soon.
Oh, the actress who plays Susan Smith in neighbours is participating in an online interview next week & i'm going to try to find out if the rumour is true. That she is covered in tattoos & took to wearing the neck things to cover up a new one on her neck!!

Howdy. So i had my french oral yesterday. Dear God, it was quite awful. I'm not doing to well with revision this year. I have two more examinos this week then two more next week.
Moby was playing in Glasgow last night. I was devestated that i couldn't go again though i think that he may be dropping by again in November/December.
You know, i have to be out of this flat by 15th June? Still not secured a gaff for the summer. Pearce leaves on Saturday and Alex is away to London for the week so yesterday was the last time we would all be together for quite a while. Sob sniff etc.

Playing it aloud.
*site news. New connections made. Adore/Abhor updated*
We were at a Girls Aloud concert on Friday night. Pearce's sister is close friends with one of the band members & we got free tickets! I'll make a Gig page about it soon.
This morning i saw the final episdode of Playing it Straight on ch4. In the show, there were straight & gay guys & a poor woman had to kick out the one's she thought were gay each week. If she picked a straight gay in the final they would split £100,000 but, if he turned out to be gay then he would be awarded all the prize money. In the final, i had no idea who the gay guy remaining was. In the end she picked a gay one and she was really upset. The two had become close and she couldn't believe he had lied to her. He was in a state too and gave her all his prize money! In the end they split it. It was really emotional & this coming from the "Heart of Stone" girl.

Just spent 4 hours fighting for my life in poker with Alex & Dave after watching Maverick I lost to David in the end. The bugger.
Been spending most of my time making way through The hitchikers guide to the galaxy & watching the first series of Family guy i bought on Friday.
Oh, i finaaly got round to picking up Moby's new album after 18 left me a little disillusioned. However, this album has restored my faith. It's funkier than anything he has brought out before & he sings much more. I like his voice, especially in The sky is broken in Play where it sounds like he laying next to me in bed and softly speaking into my ear arrraareghzzmmmmmmmmmmmm

I watched both series of Making Fiends (See the Connections page for a link to this web cartoon) again with her! "The darkness, the singing, the stupidty" - Vendetta.
Today i made my way to a French oral class and walked all the way there for 11am then noticed a sign on the door. No class as it was a bank holiday. Och. I had left the video i had rented the other day, at home. I had to make a second trip down later on to hand it (Pieces of April) in. Och.

I have been locked up in my room for the past few days, working on a big essay. The past few days have also been the sunniest since i came to this damp, wretched place! The other day my web host added more ads to each free page. I understand why they did this, to raise funds so that they can continue to offer free sites and other features.
The new ads have mucked up my site quite a bit so for now i'm just going to take down some of the background images & just have this simple repeat one.
The site is a bit of a mess at the moment but please bare with me as i hope to arrange a meeting next week to apply for my first Visa card! Then i will be able to pay for an upgrade.

lectures
*site news. New connection made*
I was really excited this morning- i was strolling along Queen Margerate road, using the services of my new mp3 player, when who should i pass? Another River City character! It was Raymond who is married to Rosin. We made eye contact too - could be related to the fact that i was gawping at him.
After that early excitement, the day dragged a bit. I popped into Fopp for a wee pick me up & came out with MC Solaar's album March 6. It's pretty good, twas only five squid & came with a dvd & single in a limited edition set.
I'm planning on attending a lecture tomorrow night - "The role of the UN as a humananitarian actor". It's mine & my friend Su's dream to be UN officials.
Well, better go dive into my bed and bury my head in my covers. I intend to make it to a 10am lecture tomorrow. Have never been at that time before, usually opting for the 3pm slot.

*site news. Four new life photos & Four pics added to the Derry page*
Spent three hours today at the library. Uck. There was a creepy guy sitting opposite me the whole time too. Uck.
In my French literature lecture we have this "group-work-happy" lecturer at the mo. At the start we had to talk to those around us about the weathers role in film & texts & give examples. He picked on me & i suggested the film Ice Storm. Later he made me summarize it as no one admitted to seeing it, for fear of being awarded the role of summerizer. I said "Well, i remember that a lot of people got it on. Raging hormones with the storm raging in the background." Dear Lord.

River City
I haven't posted or updated for a few days as i have been rather worried that my laptop(ina) is set to explode. The fan is playing up & it keeps causing the keys to heat up & switches off too. Urgh. I need to send it away to be kicked back into shape but i couldn't cope.
Anyhoo, Haven't been up to that much. Went shopping with Alex on thursday night & again yesterday with my mom. I finally found jeans that fit my short legs yey. My mom also gave me a wee flash mp3 player which i have been playing with all day.
Ooooooh, yesterday evening we saw Billy from River City (a Glaswegian soap). He was drunk & staggering along Byers road on his phone. He is the fourth character i have seen. I am pretty sure i saw the character Alanna the other day leaving the Oran Mor (where i went to that tsunami gig) wearing a gillit. I was in a tiny shop called Pink Poodle with Shirley. Not sure why she was in there as it is aimed at gals my age. Oh & i was walking into this place called Merchants Square when i saw the back of Eileen -my friend Lindsay saw the front of her.

perfect housing
Just taken a break out from packing. Off to Derry tomorrow and will be meeting up with my flatmates. I will be back on Monday night so be sure to check the picture page.
I was at the library all day yesterday. I figured i should sacrifice at least one day of this holiday studying. I picked up a garbage postcard outside the university bookshop. I'm loving them at the moment, Garbage not University book shops that is though they do offer essential reading material at a fair price and are often conveniently located.

Fool proof guide for getting to sleep
*site news. Added a life picture. Two new music connections made. That now brings the connections to 59*
I'm up bright and early that's despite the worst night of my life! I set about going to my bed early last night, after a week and half of dropping out at 5am. Yet my body had other ideas, i could not get to sleep. I tried different lighting, drank a herbal tea, took two herbal sleeping tablets, placed lavender on my cushion, put the radio on for a while, switched to a jazz cd and then just switched it off completely. Throughout the night i kept picking up my book hoping it would lead me to the land of nod.
I found out last night that if you follow all these actions you should be snoozing after five hours. Oh yes.

Also, you may not care but i am really proud of myslef - after years of trying i finally figured out how to make a semi-transparent text box. Oh yes*
Some music to stream:

ludacris|move bitch (i laugh everytime i hear it)
I completely threw away today. I woke up at 1:30pm then realised the clocks have to go forward. So i stumbled out of my room at 2:34pmish. I never did anything i have been plannig to do since i broke up, well actually i did do the dishes. Och.
i've just wasted another 89 minutes of my life watching probably the worst film ever. Seriously, i'm not even going to tell you it's name for it would worry me to think that you may check it out in order to validate my claim. Thus it would steal 89 minutes of your life and the c-r-a-z-y cycle would continue.

och, i'm listening to Westwood but his guest snoop "doggy" dog is pissing me off. besides repeatedly referring to himself in the third person, he just tried freestyle rapping earlier and i nearly pissed myself.

My flatmate Alex sent me to this funny article about a guy who is dating a gay man and is worried that his lover is going to go straight to hell unless he straightens up!
some highlights from the article:
"I had no idea Brett was gay when we started dating."
"After a few weeks, though, it became pretty obvious that things were not as they seemed—it was the way he walked, the way he talked, the way he kissed me…"
Anyhoo, i have been on the laptop all day just taking a break for neighbours. I was sick of looking at the old limp navigation bit on the site but it took me a ridiculous amount of time to sort it.
my friend Su is staying tomorrow so when i finally finished sorting the site i had to tidy up the flat.
All my other flatmates left for home on Saturday so it's just me. It's not too bad, my mom was up on Sunday & she is staying on Thursday with my little sister. It is pretty creepy here at night though.
Oh yeah, my mom brought up two Texas albums for me. I am loving them at the moment.

Did you know that originally, there were lyrics intended for Star Trek? Well, to save you seeking them out yourself, i have gone to the trouble for yous.
Beyond
The rim of the star-light
My love
Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches
Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me.

Woo, i'm pooped. Tonight, went into the center to see hitch in the worlds tallest cinema, with Alex & Pearse. I'm too stuffed with nachos & popcorn to sleep. I love Glasgow, we left for the cinema at 10:56pm & the film started at 11. we managed to get a taxi, take out cash, pick up grub & find seats before the movie actually started.
Anyhoo, back in fife the last buses ran at, or, before 12 so there's no way to live this glasgow life.

Never made that entry last night as i was up watching Red Nose Day. It was the best yet & great to see the Evans back on our screens.
The Little Britain sketches were a real highlight. After gyrating on a man's lap, Young Vicky Pollard is told by Trisha Goddard (our nation's version of Jerry Springer - she's queen of the chavs) informs her that this man is her father.
"What?! are you some kind of pediatrician!"

The start of the week was really pants. Had an essay due for French on Monday, though i didn't finish it until Tuesday morn. I have a big one due (3-4000 words) in the next two weeks as well.
Anyhoo, my week got better. On Wednesday we went to see Colin Murray, the radio1 DJ, at the QM. He's been a few times and it's always a fun night. I'll hopefully put up a new page in the gigs bit soon.
The week returned to crappiness when i realised that my library book from the short loan floor is locked in Alex's room. Alex is away in Manchester this weekend & the book was due yesterday! The fine is 50p per minute stopping at £10. YES - £10 for a book which says £3 on the back!

I booked a return flight to Derry in Ireland the other day for just £34.50! I'm going with Alex & Claire for four days, Pearce & David live there & are going to give us the grand tour. Can't wait, haven't been on holiday in ages & it will be my first trip to Ireland.
Oh, at the moment i am contemplating staying in Egypt for 2-3 months this summer. I could work for my uncle & my dad lives there. There are a few problems though a)it will be sweltering hot, i have been twice before but that was in cooler October & b)i can't speak Arabic. Aside from these, the offer is very tempting. Hmmm.

oran mor
Last night there was a fundraiser for the tsunami victims in a beautiful building, Oran Mor in the West end of Glasgow. Alex called me during the day asking if i wanted to go, i had never heard of any of the acts playing but it sounded good. It generally was too except for our sore feet from standing for so long & this one act who had all kinds of drums yet seemed to have the one song on repeat for about 52minutes!!
Later on, we left with friends off Alex's course & headed to the GUU. I had never been to this union before, i'm a member of the Queen Margerate Union. & thank god i am too! This other union stank & the floors were slippy & sticky. Never been so stressed out in my life- kept losing folk & despite it being a much larger union, the rooms were small & stuffed full. We all reunited in the end though.
& that was my musical night.

jumpin' jacks
*site news. two more pictures added in the life page*
David took Pearce to the Glasgow University Union to play pool & get him out of the flat. Us girls were left to decorate the kitchen/living area with an Irish theme (see the life page). Alex made a cake with the irish flag and a shamrock iced on. When Pearce got back, we played the Irish cd, gave him his presents & drink before moving on to Jumping Jacks in the city.
The place was heaving - Wednesday night's serve all drinks for a pound here. £1!!! We all got pretty, or not so much, drunk. Two Celtic football players, Craig Bellamy & John Hartson, walked over to our corner of the bar with their little posse. Despite them being creeps it was cool that they came over as it fitted in with Pearce's Irish birthday theme.

thief!
*site news. The Guestbook page has finally been redecorated! Only two more pages to go & some little touches here & there until the redesign is complete! It has taken me ages i know*
Whew i have had such a busy week with my group presentation Thursday passed. When it came to my 10 minutes i was extremely nervous & had drunk 3 or 4 cups of water wishing they were vodkas! It went ok though in the end.
Yesterday i went to the BIG E K (East Kilbride - 1hr 30mins away) to meet a friend. There is an indoor ice rink in the middle of the shopping center so you can watch sakters while you wander around.
I bought a gorgeous hat that i have wanted for ages. It was reduced from over £20 to £5! I also bought a jumper & two strappys for £9:50. Bargain.
Oh yeah, i also accidently stole an umbrella! Well, sort of. I had put it around my wrist after i picked it up near the entrance. We picked up loads of clothes in the shop but my friend told me they wouldn't accept my type of bank card so we hid our finds in between some jackets so we wouldnt have to hunt around for them again. Then we headed to the cash machine & then i tried to remember what i had done with the umbrella and looked down & so i had done a Winnona. There hadn't been any security detectors & the security guards hadn't noticed so i ran back in, looked around & saw the security guard was scratching his nose so i took my chance & threw the umbrella to the side. I then went back to the cash machine & we both returned to the shop. If they have security camera's they must be playing it over to work out what this mad girl was doing!

when two flats go to war
My flat, D, are at war with the girls downstairs in E&F. A month or two ago, some of them were in our flat admiring a picture of Jake gyllenhaal which had spent it's early life in Alex's diary for a year. Then, a few days later we noticed that the picture was missing! Shortly afterwards, Alex was at one of their woeful parties and who did she spot on their tatty magazine wall? That's right our old friend was grinning down at her!
After weeks of waiting we finally had our chance to rescue Jake on Friday night. The girls, not dettered by their previous attempts at throwing a party, held another one. So, in the same calculating frame of mind as they must have been in when they originally kidnapped him, we ventured down to flat E. Three of us mingled while the fourth, an unsuspected friend staying with Claire over this weekend, collected Jake. This left a little space on the wall in the process but we don't anticipate that they will notice for a little while yet. We left with the Gyllenhaal and some lollies from their party.

home made vegetable soup
*site news. adore/abhor page redecorated and content updated*
Yesterday i saw a River City character again. It's a hilarious Glasgow set soap. I was in a youthful clothes shop when my friend spotted her, she plays a mother in the soap. The other day i also saw a twin and his mother from the Child of our time programmes!
Speaking of yesterday, awful link i know, my mother cam up in the afternoon and for an hour or so she taught me how to make veggie soup. When she left i had a bowl with some of the unsliced bread she bought me. A short while later, loads of guys appeared in our kitchen from a party downstairs. I was talking to one when David shouted to me that some cheeky bugger had run off with the pan which held the rest of the soup in it and he had cut himself some bread!

the sunday club
*site news. four new pictures added to the pictures page*
I stayed in the kingdom of Fife last night. I was at the sunday club. It's not really a club just friends and family of the McKenna family. Every sunday the McKenna's invite them in for Home-made soup, followed by two or three other courses. When i'm in Fife the Mckenna's let me stay with them.
I found a book today which could have been written for me. My flatmates always laugh at me for my love of all things Russian and Jewish. I informed them that it was my dream to marry a Russian Jew. The book i bought was of linked short stories about Russian-jews. Even more amazing, it's entitled "Natasha".

is god watching the BBC?
I was watching something the other night, which has really rattled me. As you will probably know if you live in the UK, the BBC ignored public protests and went ahead with broadcasting "Jerry Springer the opera" last Saturday. There has been a real uproar with the stage show’s strong and frequent use of strong language being one of the targets. It was shown past the watershed though, the main bane of contention has been that many found it blasphemous with the holy family being portrayed in a particularly satirical way.
The production itself did not offend me or incite any strong emotions. It was in fact certain Christian organisations who have fired me up. It was reported that members of an extremist group threatened the lives of two BBC television executives and guards were posted outside their homes. (More information can be found in this Guardian article Abusive calls give BBC chiefs a Jerry Springer moment.) Protection against organisations who are stirred by fictional obscenity rather than the real life horrors.
Whenever I hear of Christian organised campaigns they seem to be for certain violent games to be banned or calling for television, films, and the world to be censored. The outcry sparked after the notorious Janet Jackson incident last year springs to mind.
Why do I never see these groups using their undeniably strong power for good? When will we see them carrying signs reading “Christians against the death penalty”, “Christians against third world debt” or “There is no such thing as a Christian just war. Trust us, we have read the book.”
The programme I was watching the other night that angered me was dealing with the backlash against the BBC’s decision. Can they truly believe that God is watching the BBC? If he does exist, he is probably more concerned with how the public react more strongly to satirical images of Jesus singing than of desperate people around the world.

£10 pizza and return of the ninjafish
Yesterday morning i realised why the hot water refused to run and the flat was so frosty, the swith next to the boiler had been turned off!
It took me two days to tidy my room. Two days and i still haven't unpacked mt vanity case.
It is ok though as i have two weeks off, my poor flatmates have exams yet i managed to escape that torture.
my loan should be through now, it better have anyway as i'm down to £5 after dishing out £10 on a pizza tonight. I could have bought a cd or 10 iceland pizza's for that ridiculous price!
oooh, i accidently clicked a link for my old site missninjafish.8m.com and it has resurfaced! I thought Freeservers.com had killed it. I quickly saved the whole site as well. I'm truely glad that it is back, i had spent so much time with it.

back
I've been back in Glasgow for about an hour. I have returned to an empty, cold flat but i don't care as i am so glad to be back!
My room is a mess with wrapping paper, gifts, underwear and bizarre other items strewn about the floor. I started to clear things up but after five minutes i grew tired so here i am!
I spent last week in the Kingdom of Fife. Was at friend's party last night and there were loads of people from school. It was real trippy seeing them all. Her party was exactly opposite our old high school and i got really worked up at seeing it again. I loved that place.
I don't think i start Uni until the 24th so it should be like freshers week all over again when our loans come through.
My flatmates won't be back till tomorrow so i'm going to make use of the peace and set about sorting this room out, starting my washing etc. First things first, i'm starving, i'm off to buy some grub.

*eighteen*
Well, i've now reached the age which most fogies (old people) wish they could be again. i can now legally drink so all that fun has gone *poof*
I had packed three days celebrating:
Friday - Flatmates kept me in my room for about 3 hours as it is our birthday tradition in the flat, and prepared a Neighbours style barbeque. Obviously they couldn't set up a real bbq in the flat - our smoke detecors being very sensitive and all that - but they grilled me veggie burgers & sausages. They bought me 18 things for my birthday such a lip balm, choco pig, whoopie cusion and a laminator!!
Friday night- Went to some 12 hour thing but we had to que for an hour in the rain. Once inside, the cloakroms were shut so i had to hog around my umbrella. I only lasted till 5am, then had to wait around outside my flat as i was locked out.
Saturday night - Had a meal with some friends in St Andrews.
Sunday - Was at the sunday club. It is a group of us who meet at this couple's house and have a three course dinner ever sunday. I stayed with this couple whenever my family went on holiday and one of their daughters, Lynsey who came with me to see Moby, used to babysit me. We all just talk but i haven't seen them all in a while.
One of my presents from my mom was a digi cam so i should be putting up pics soon.
Spending this christmas at my grandfolks in Teeside, England where most of my family live. Been downloading all the songs i hear on a night out in Glasgow, the Undertones' Teenage Kicks is on loop at the moment. Bought T-rex The Greatest Hits after finally getting round to watching Billy Elliot the other day.

Check out the time! I'm actually writing late at night rather at a time with a "0" at the start! This is rare, but after scrolling down at previous entries, it's not a first. Still.
Anyhoo, I’m sitting listening to The Zutons album, it's pretty darn great and makes a change to Franz Ferdinand who I have been listening to quite excessively. I'm also picking at some vodka chocolates I was given, wonder if it is possible to get drunk on them, must give it a bash some time.
I checked my faceparty.com messages today. I never reply to them, I just use it to get people to visit this coolio site! Anyhoo, this guy e-mailed me and well, this is what he said:

She might come back with me on Thursday though then on Friday I will be at that twelve-hour thang. Saturday's my birthday then I am away to England on the Monday. posse of neds
Went to see The Incredibles tonight with Alex, Pearse & Claire at the tallest cinema in Europe you know! Before we went in, bought a drink at some Irish bar nearby. I managed to get in despite the fact the bouncer seemed to be studying my university card like an exam resision book! What a dope, i'm not 18 till the 18th!
Anthoo, the film was a bit of an epic lasting for hours. You thought that they had saved the city then realised they still had to save the planet, universe, their marriage yadyada. Edna Mode was a classic, see her profile at the disney website: http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/incredibles/main.html
We made our way to the back rows of the cinema as the yet unwritten "Rules for Teens" dictates. (This particular rule applies to where you sit on the bus too, there are practicle reasons for this positioning- less chance of anyone throwing stuff at you for one!) It seemed that a drunk posse of neds had been studying this rule book before entering too, they had chosen the very back row where ALL the power is held.
This afternoon we are going to have a christmas dinner with festive songs, tinsel et al. I have bought a yummy Quorn roast thang. We should all be getting dressed up for it too!

xxxmas shopping
Hey folks, went shopping tonight with ALex & Claire - Alex was amusingly drunk having spent 2 hours in the QM drinking "skittles". So she kept running off, jumping and looking for toilets.
They tricked me as well!! You see, these girls have some mad obsession with underwear shopping and are always trying to drag me out shopping for it. Anyhoo, we ended up in Ann Summers amongst "rampent rabbits" & archaeological erotic reads!! I just felt awkward and couldn't look at the other people there - who all happened to be neds!! I made my escape when Claire went off to try on a corset.
I have loads of sgopping to do, most of my friends parents decided to have them in December!! Not very considerate guys, there's all the christmas shopping too!! (can't complain too much though- i'm a december girl).
I have to go now and sleep as i haven't done so normally in ages. Went to the bathroom at 2 last night and bumped into Alex then didn't get back to bed till after 4am!

connections
Phew, after two nights without sleep i finally finished my anthropology essay this afternoon. Now i'm having trouble sleeping, think my body has forgotton how the system works.
I have just unveiled the new connections page, it was looking pitiful and hadn't really been changed since the days when i had that aol site! I hate when i'm using another computer and don't have access to my internet favorites list so this page will help, me! Anyhoo, there are now 4 headings;
more from me
worth a look
music
building sites
I'm promising to check the links each week to make sure they are all working (i do this for all the links throughout the site as well) I can't stand broken links in web pages- it's really frustrating as it's always the links which seem interesting! No need to fret here.

LEFT BRAIN, RIGHT BRAIN TRICK
Sitting, lift your right foot off the floor and make
clockwise circles.
Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right
hand.
Your foot will change direction and there's nothing you can do about
it.

return of the murray
Colin Murray was frickin fantastic last night!! Pearse and i had shared a bottle of my Tia Maria before we left and were absolutly steaming by the time we burst into the QM. Haven't been that druk in, well ever!! I'm not a big drinker you see- being just seventeen!! (eighteen in less than two weeks) I was possibly passively stoned as well - i myself have never smoked anything at all but lots of people around me were.
Can't dance/won't dance usually but apparently i was dancing "vigorously " Alex says. Woke up this morning with sore legs. We were doing a lot of jumping i recall.
Can't remember much about Colin, he went crowd surfing and at the end of the night he signed that snowflake for me!!

where is abhor?
The British Council asked over 7,000 learners in 46 countries what they considered to be the most beautiful words in the English language. In addition an online poll was run via British Council websites in all non-English speaking countries. Over 35,000 people voted.
According to the survey results, the top seventy most beautiful words in the English language are as follows:
just back after being at a flat party downstairs, some celtic player from Derry was there too, can't remember his name though. Also, there was a guy there who looked freakishly like Seth from the OC. Anyhoo, it has been about a month since i last wrote anything here huh? sorry, this is a basic summary of the missing month:
ice skating at the outdoor ice-ring in George's square, Glasgow.
re-skinned the site
been avoiding writing a nasty 3000 word essay for anthropology
decorated the flat for christmas
Opened 3 advent calender doors so far
have organised a dinner for my birthday with all my closest friends reunited.
found out that Cake are playing at a club called the garage on the 1st of Febuary!!
bought a ticket to see Colin Murray who's going to be at the QMU tonight. Me & Alex are bringing along paper snowflakes for him to sign!
I'm about finished the re-design, some things to tweak and am planning on sorting out and adding to the connections page shortly. Let me know what you think through the Tagboard.

darts of pleasure
Yesterday, while i was watching a video in the library for anthropology, Shell from Big Brother 5 UK came up to the shelves next to me looking for a book! She's doing her postgrad here.
My flatmate Alex bought The Killers, & Britney Spears Greatest hits today! I've also just copied her Franz Ferdinand album. They are always played in the union and cars always scoot along Byers Road playing it.

ruler of the world
whew, i'm too tired, we are up waiting around to see who is going to be ruling the world for the next few years. Hmmm.
Was up late last night & this morn- finishing off some French translation. Lorry loads to do.
I havn't been up to that much, christmas shopping, seem to be constantly tidying my room (i.e. not doing my uni work).
We measured ourselves today in the flat corridoor, marked where we are today, might have grown by the end of the year. I am 5.3/4ish.

since last time...
I'm writing this entry at a decent hour tonight. Since the last entry i have pretty much filled up the site, fingers crossed all links are working. Let me know what you's all think as i see my friend Sarah already has.(By the way if you want to know what the heck she's on about; we had to write profiles of our friends & hand them in for our high school yearbook. Sarah wrote mine.) There is still the pictures site to organise but i'll need to get a digi cam first.
On Wednesday Colin Murray -the BBCradio 1 dj- is venturing back into my union, we missed him last time as we turned up too late & the the mean bouncer people wouldn't let us in. I was in the union today & saw they had stuck up posters with Lou Carpenter, of neighbours status, is featured in a little storyboard. amazing. I have been hunting everywhere for a poster of the show -but no luck so far. Will keep you posted.

shouldn't be doing this...
On sunday night i didn't sleap till 5am, last night 2:30. I need to sleep guys!! This morning we had a fire alarm at 7:30am. At first i thought it was my alarm clock, then i realised that yes- i was to step out into the rain with just a night-dress & dressing gown. How humiliated i was-especially as there had apparenlty been a poster warning EVERYONE else about it.
This city is going to kill me, that's a little prediction. It will either be caused by:
cardiac arrest brought on by all the stairs in this place.
drowning in the rain.
electricution- there are about 22plugs and 62 wires behind this desk & i keep dropping things down the gap then ending up entangled in wires.

welcome
Throughout my life, I have moved around quite a bit, I’m used to change. Having just moved to Glasgow City to start Uni. & equipped with a new laptop & free internet access- I have decided to make this fresh site. I felt i had refreshed the last site (missninjafish.8m.com) enough times. Missninjafish.8m.com will be frozen in time and i can look at it to see what i used to be like (until freeservers.com decide to delete it, anyway.)
This site will be a little bit more personal, revolving around what I like rather than putting up stuff to entertain others. I'm sounding a bit self-indulgent huh? Oh well. Maybe this is the first time you have heard of me or have followed a link from an old site of mine, either way, come in and have a look round.
If you need to contact me, my e-mail address is natasha_carole@yahoo.co.uk.
